"When I first moved to Los Angeles, I rode the bus a lot, a very multi-culutral experience! I saw a lot of people talking to themselves. This was foreign to me. In my cutlure, we are maybe more open to having freindly coversation with people we don't know. So I became interested in what was going on in their heads, these bus riders. Thus began the series of what I call 'Shadowland Portraits,' in which I capture, with my art, the energy of the people riding the Metro in Los Angeles. This drawing is the first of the series."
