| Electricos, Lisa Flores, Ars Poetria, Somos Uno Sound and others... live in the main arena, reprising his popular performance piece, Metamorphosis. Appropriate to Earth Day itself, Metamorphosis tells a mytho-poetic tale of the awakening of the Earth in the embrace of the Universal Great Mother Goddess. The performance was not without some dramatics, quite apart from the performance itself, when a religious fanatic came out of the crowd to accost performance artist, Beatriz Vasquez, as she danced her role as the Goddess. Good grief!
Metamorphosis was choreographed by Eros, and featured Eros and Beatriz Vasquez, with appearance by Hector Diaz, performing as the "Demon." The Earth Day performance was sponsored by Mi Alma Designs, Inc., along with Greenwave International.
The East Hollywood Earth Day Festival was presented by the East Hollywood Neighborhood Council, and Stage of the Arts, Inc., and was sponsored by Metro, City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, The Office of Council President Eric Garcetti, Tom LaBonges Councilman Office, Kevin De Leon District 45th Assemblymember, Hollywood Hotel Ramada, Opcion Sonica, Recycled Movie, El Gran Burrito and the Census 2010 Hollywood Complete Count Committee.
